Boy Scouts of California merit Badge list
All merit badge counselors must have signed forms filed with the council once a year. Here is a list of what forms to fill out and where to send them.
New counselors
Follow this procedure if this is your first time signing up as a merit badge counselor for the Balboa Oaks District.
- Fill out a new adult leader application (English / Spanish - please get a copy from the Scout office because it includes carbon paper)
- Fill out a merit badge counselor application (Microsoft Word format / PDF format)
- Mail these documents to:

Renewing counselors
Follow this procedure if:
- You are an existing counselor for the Balboa Oaks District. (once a year)
- You want to change which merit badges you teach. (adding and/or removing)
- You will no longer be a counselor for the Balboa Oaks District.
- Mail these documents to:

The Balboa Oaks Merit Badge Counselor list is updated yearly, and will be provided at the Round Table kick-off each September. This renewal procedure verifies that the list includes your correct contact information (phone number(s), city, ZIP) and list of merit badges you teach.
